Life with Cancer, Entry#17: Infusion Day

Today I go in for another round of infusions.

…round 4 of an immunotherapy drug called Opdivo, to be exact.  The drug will try to trigger my immune system to “see” the cancer cells and attack them… if it works.  I’ll find out in a few months.

Infusions take about an hour and a half and I go in once every two weeks.

It is the last FDA approved option for me, as my body has had no responses to the other approved therapies that we’ve tried (Nexavar and Stivarga).  I was actually out of options until Opdivo was approved to treat liver cancer just a few months ago.

I pray that something good will happen, if only to buy me a little more time.

Anyhow, these infusions take a toll on my body so I’ll be spending the next few days looking like my little nephew in this picture… but less cute.  I probably won’t be posting anything new until I feel a bit better.

Stay out of trouble ’til I get back!
